One week before \u201cUkraine Week\u201d (June 20-24), the Global Lounge staff published a special Ukraine edition of Toin Gakuen Global, the English language newspaper.\u00a0 The staff decided good topics for the newspaper and then chose one to write.\u00a0 Some articles were about the war, but many focused on Ukrainian history and culture, and other topics.<\/p>\n

In early-May, we started to discuss fun activities that could be held during \u201cUkraine Week,\u201d which would teach students about Ukraine.\u00a0 The staff came up with four ideas: a musical instrument quiz, karuta, a general knowledge quiz and bingo.\u00a0 The staff chose which activity they would like to organize and split into small groups to plan the events.\u00a0 They worked during lunchtime, after school, and at home to prepare the events.<\/p>\n

During \u201cUkraine Week\u201d at lunch time, many students came to the Global Lounge and had fun doing these activities and learning about Ukraine at the same time.\u00a0 Students could also win some prizes.<\/p>\n

I think it was a good opportunity for the Global Lounge staff and students to learn more about Ukraine\u2019s history, culture, food and other topics apart from the war.<\/p>\n
